The SLC51 organic solute transporter family of transporters is a pair heterodimeric proteins which regulate bile salt movements in the small intestine, duct, and liver, as part enterohepatic circulation [2, 5, 1]. OSTα/OSTβ also expressed steroidogenic cells brain adrenal gland, where it may contribute to steroid sulphate movement [6]. Bile acid transport suggested be facilitative independent sodium, potassium, chloride ions or protons [5, 2]. heterodimers have been shown [3H]taurocholic acid, [3H]dehydroepiandrosterone sulphate, [3H]estrone-3-sulphate, [3H]pregnenolone sulphate[2, 6]. OSTα/OSTβ-mediated inhibited by clofazimine fidaxomicin [9, 11]. OSTα seven TM protein, while OSTβ single 'ancillary' both are thought intracellular C-termini [8]. Both function [8, 4]. Inherited mutations associated with liver disease congenital diarrhea children [10, 7].
